Gary Schank has been both an airline pilot and an attorney since 1988. He has also maintained several businesses throughout his life.

He began working at a small family run advertising agency. He started at the apprentice level, working in the checking and accounting departments. Thereafter, he worked his way up to become an Account Executive.  The agency grew to offices in 16 cities, with 98 employees.  Eventually, Gary Schank became a co-owner of the company.

In 1983, Gary Schank sold his ownership share of the advertising agency to the remaining partner. Thereafter, he moved to California to attend law school.  He attended law school between 1984 and mid-1986.  During his law studies, Gary Schank studied for one semester abroad in Rome, Italy. “Living in Italy was a life-changing experience. It opened my eyes to the entire world, and to the enlightenment that comes with experiencing and understanding other cultures.”  

Since the late 1980’s Gary Schank has managed a dual career as an attorney and airline pilot. While waiting for results from the California Bar, Gary rekindled his lifelong passion: aviation. Gary Schank was already an accomplished pilot, having attained a commercial pilot’s license as well as a flight instructor’s certificate. He applied to become an airline pilot for a major airline, and was accepted for the position of pilot for Northwest Airlines (now Delta Airlines). Currently, Gary Schank is a Captain for Delta Airlines and a member of the California Bar.
